Sanctuary Close: A Showcase of Craft, Scale and Collaboration

The Sanctuary Close project in Werribee is a defining build for Evans Building Group, showcasing the company’s ingenuity, resilience, and commitment to quality.

The brief: a luxurious forever home tailored to the client’s lifestyle. The result: a residence of monumental scale, high-end finishes, and structural feats. From handmade Daniel Robertson bricks and clay roof tiles to custom cornices and steel-framed glazing, every detail reinforces craftsmanship.

Engineering presented one of the most complex challenges. A 15-tonne brick fireplace suspended above a basement-level alfresco required structural ingenuity and planning. The home’s frame, soaring 7 metres high, demanded cranes, scaffolding, and rigorous safety measures — further validating EBG’s award-winning safety culture.

Key to the project’s success was collaboration with trusted partners. Circa and Bowens supplied a suite of products that elevated both performance and design, including Dincel Structural Walling solutions for the basement, sealants, tapes and foam for wrapping the building envelope, all fixout materials, Iver and Tradco doorware for refined detailing, and custom skirting and architrave profiles.

For Dan Evans, Circa is more than a supplier — it’s a professional showroom and collaborative hub. “As a builder with an office but no showroom, Circa is invaluable. I bring clients here, we explore product options and discuss alternatives to standard specifications. It’s professional, inspiring, and a huge asset to my business.”

Dan values not only the space, but the people. He points to Damian Thomas from Bowens and Suzanne McNeice from Circa as trusted advisors who deliver product ideas, professional insights, and on-time solutions. “Having reliable partners who share our commitment to design and sustainability makes all the difference.”

The Sanctuary Close home is more than a project — it’s a testament to EBG’s philosophy: combining client care, craftsmanship, and trusted partnerships to achieve extraordinary results. With builds like this, Evans Building Group continues to set new benchmarks for bespoke residential construction across Victoria.
